Play Lab 03 (IF YOU WERE A SQUARE)
Date : 2 Oct 2025
Place : Workshop 220, Lcc
Time : 10AM – 5PM
This PlayLab03 – Today our class met Eugenie Dodd who is TOO COOL for a website, and Karen Burbano, an MAGBI alumni from 2017. And absolutly yes!, we’ve continue playing with SHAPES and Bauhaus! but today was different, we work individually instead of team player.
I got “Square” shape which is I think it suitable for my personality more than others. I’m happy with this Shapes and also individual working because today we have to expose the shape through ourself. I start with music and drawing, I knew deeply that I can talk to myself by this activity, start with cube shape as I usually drawn everytime when I have nothing in my head, then it go on to 7 pages sketch and I realize myself. what thing that I felt comfort and like it most. I love something that looks simple at first but if you look deeply, look twice you will fine something incredible.

so I try to make some square shape that can draw another square by endless posiibilities.
Model-1 : I choose wireframe and angle with solid color panel, but accidently found that there is interesting shadow happened

then I developed to Model-2 ( I shifted wireframe piece align in the middle to make shadow looks like a cube.

Then I played and experiment by painted

and this is the thing that accidently happend and I like it!

Some people from class try to present their pieces.

This is comment that I’ve got from Karen Burbano
- it’s good that you start with drawing
- you think too much, it seems to be square
- I don’t feel that is you, try to describe yourself in one word
- make it simple, Branding is the way you said too many info but say it in simple way
- if you can talk and present you work easily like you say to 5 years old boy, that’s great!
- no ANTI DESIGN, your work look like ANTI Design.. it’s Bauhaus
I’m kind of lost my mind, but yes it’s reflect something. I agreed about “SIMPLE” thing and Think too much. So this is a little bit lost direction but not that much.
so that’s why I was there, Why I decided to be here at LCC, I hope I’m gonna change in some way better and polished by people in this class.
OK then! no time to cry, I have faced this kind of situation long-long time ago, I’ll keep continue fixing, research and transform myself in some way.
Hope for better
